If you are applying for a Primary School place for Reception Year Entry

If you are a resident of Slough Borough Council (SBC) and you have a child who would commence Reception in September (the September after their 4th birthday), then you will be required to apply for a primary school place for the academic year. This application must be made online and needs to be submitted by 15 January.

You must only apply through SBC if you are a SBC resident. Please visit the SBC Admissions for further information.

If you are not a resident of Slough Borough Council you will need to apply through your Home Authority. You will still be able to apply for Slough Borough Council schools through your home Authority.

For in-year applications,  SBC hold waiting lists for all years which are currently full at Marish. Please complete our own admission form as well as the In-Year CAF form  for Slough.

SEN Unit

If you child has a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an EHC Plan, you must apply for a place via Slough’s Educational Support Services.

Secondary School Transfers for Year 6

An application for a secondary school must be made when your child starts Year 5. SBC expect all applications to be completed online and the portal opens on 1 September and closed on 31 October. Any application made after this date will be classed as late and will only be processed after on timely applications have been dealt with. In this case, it could be extremely unlikely that your child will be allocated a school of your choice.

Although a number of our children go on to attend Grammar schools, Marish does not tutor children for the 11+ tests. Please check the websites of any of the Slough grammar Schools for information about how to apply or visit Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools Admissions Portal. Tests take place in September and results are posted prior to the closing date for CAF submission.
