Mission Statement

Dear Parents and Carers,

BEFORE YOU CLICK AGAIN, TAKE A MOMENT to read the email below which will tell you more about Marish Academy Trust than the rest of the website put together.

 Good morning,

My dad is currently residing at Thames Hospice in Windsor and I can’t tell you how much his spirits were lifted when he received the Easter cards from your wonderful children yesterday.  He was overwhelmed, as were we, the time taken to make them and the words they offered lifted him so much.

Please pass on our thanks to your children, they really did make a difference.

In March 2019, Year 3 children at Willow and Marish, made Easter Cards and small gifts shown below. These were not for family and friends, but for the residents of Thames Hospice.

This action is typical of what you can expect from Marish Academy Trust. We are two truly inclusive primary schools in Slough whose aspirations for our children, include them making a positive difference to others as well the usual things such as the best possible outcomes and life chances.

Now read on to find out about our vison, values, ethos and curriculum. There is also information about key dates and forthcoming events as well as details of the many achievements of our children. Some examples are listed below:

In 2018 both Marish and Willow are in the top five of the league tables in Slough for attainment at KS2, because attainment is well above average nationally and for Slough. This is even more impressive, given that Marish was top of the league tables, for overall primary school progress performance at KS2 in Slough and in the top 2% of schools nationally in 2017

  • Marish Academy Trust’s best practice contribution is now published in the Parliamentary review 2018 p45 onwards. (See link below)
  • Progress remains above average in all year groups in both schools
  • Our disadvantaged pupils and those with additional needs make do as well, if not better than the other pupils.

Marish Academy Trust’s commitment to improve even further is enshrined in our revised Trust wide logo and motto ‘Strive for the heights’ shown above.

To achieve this, we will continue to welcome people into our community, regardless of their backgrounds, ethnicities, faiths, age or skills. We focus on what we share: living or working in 21st century Slough and wanting the best outcomes and life chances for all our children. Here, diversity is a strength and rich resource, rather than a barrier. These aspirations apply to all members of the Marish/Willow Community and are summed up in our three diamond rules, our trust strap line and in fact, British values.  Ask your child to explain what these mean in practice:

 Three Diamond Rules:

Mrs Denham teaching her Greater Depth Maths set. Executive Headteacher

Show respect and good manners at all times: Care for everyone and everything and Follow instructions straightaway, with thought and care!

Our Trust Strap Line:

Work to be outstanding,

Deserve to be outstanding,

Will be outstanding!

British Values:

Tolerance and inclusion, mutual respect for personal freedom, equality of opportunity and a celebration of the diversity of our community which enriches us all.

These values and our children’s understanding of them are key to creating strong, resilient young people and communities which are the hope of a brighter future.

Thank you for all your support so far in 2019- we look forward to continuing our successful partnership into 2020 and beyond.

Mrs. H G Denham Executive Headteacher
